# Judge 4 costume report Status: **judged** I visually inspected the [costume collage](https://fren-pet-h2026-collage.rckmtlshared.chatgpt.site/H2026-collage-A-I.png), including every entry A–I, and the [normal-pet reference](https://fren-pet-h2026-collage.rckmtlshared.chatgpt.site/Fren-Pet-normal-appearance-reference.png). The reference is not an entry. Natural species shapes, ears, limbs, tails, and markings receive no costume credit. These are my preferences from the visible costumes, without numerical scores or consultation of other ballots. ## Entry observations - **A — Observation:** An orange-and-purple patterned head wrap has a fan of multicolored feathers, a central jewel-like ornament, and long fabric or bead-like pieces descending beside the face. **Impression:** Richly decorated and memorable, with a cohesive palette; its transformation remains concentrated around the head. - **B — Observation:** A blue shark-shaped covering has a white underside, a toothed mouth, side gill marks, a dorsal fin, and a raised tail; the normal pet is concealed. **Impression:** A convincing, cleanly readable transformation into another creature, with details that support the whole silhouette. - **C — Observation:** A green helmet surrounds the top and sides of the face, with two purple-tipped antennae and purple circular accents; the small body remains exposed. **Impression:** A charming alien or space-explorer impression, but the visible costume is largely a helmet. - **D — Observation:** A striped horn and added ears rise above rainbow hair, with long rainbow curls to one side and a separate star-tipped wand to the other. **Impression:** A lively unicorn-magician impression; the wand and flowing hair make the ensemble feel more complete than a headpiece alone. - **E — Observation:** An oversized golden hand with one upright finger and a sideways thumb sits above the pet’s face. **Impression:** A bold, amusing graphic silhouette, though it reads primarily as a single novelty headpiece rather than a developed outfit. - **F — Observation:** In front of the exposed frog-like pet is an orange, pointed-eared face or figure emerging from a thick red circular base. **Impression:** The freestanding-looking prop gives this entry an inventive staged character, although its relationship to a complete costume is less visually clear. - **G — Observation:** A tall, crooked black pointed hat bears a gold S-shaped emblem and small gold accents; the cat’s face, body, and tail remain visible. **Impression:** A readable witch or wizard look, but comparatively conventional and limited to headwear; the cat features themselves add no costume credit. - **H — Observation:** A broad dark hood and rounded black robe conceal the pet, framing a pale angular face-like marking; a long brown-handled scythe with a curved silver blade runs alongside it. **Impression:** An immediately recognizable reaper-like transformation with a strong silhouette and an integrated, substantial prop. - **I — Observation:** A red helmet with large gold crescent-like horns sits above a dark face covering, with layered red shoulder and torso armor extending down the sides. **Impression:** A striking samurai impression whose coordinated helmet, mask, and armor turn the pet into a convincingly dressed character. ## Preference order H > I > B > D > A > F > C > E > G **First choice: H.** H deserves to win because the enclosing hood and robe reshape the entire pet into a coherent reaper-like figure, while the tall scythe reinforces that identity. The costume and prop form one memorable composition that stretches well beyond ordinary headwear. **Runner-up: I.** I deserves runner-up because its gold-horned helmet, face covering, and layered red armor read as a coordinated samurai ensemble. The repeated red and dark contours give the visible pieces a strong, unified character. ## Uncertainty and limits I and B were particularly close: B offers an excellent complete shark transformation with purposeful anatomical details, while I wins my preference for the coordinated impression of a character wearing several costume pieces. F’s orange figure may suggest a creature or flame-like character, but its exact identity and attachment are unclear in the supplied view; I credit only the visible prop. Theme names throughout are visual interpretations, not confirmed creator intentions. I make no inference about construction time or difficulty. Both supplied images and all nine entries were visually inspected. The collage shows one static view per entry, so hidden construction and the precise attachment of props cannot be established.
