# FPCC Costume Contest — Judge 1 Report **Status:** judged **Sources inspected (visually):** - Costume collage: https://fren-pet-h2026-collage.rckmtlshared.chatgpt.site/H2026-collage-A-I.png (2586×1242 PNG, entries A–I in a 3×3 grid) - Normal-pet reference: https://fren-pet-h2026-collage.rckmtlshared.chatgpt.site/Fren-Pet-normal-appearance-reference.png (used only to separate normal pet features from costume elements; not an entry) Facts below are what is visible in the collage. Impressions are my judgment. Inferences are labeled. ## Observations | Entry | Concrete visual observation (fact) | Impression (judgment) | |---|---|---| | A | OG pet wearing a large multicolored patterned turban with a rainbow feather plume, a central jewel, and a small crescent-moon ornament hanging at the side of the face. | Rich, colorful and well executed, but it is still essentially an ornate hat on an otherwise unchanged pet. | | B | No pet features are visible; the tile shows a full blue cartoon shark with dorsal fin, tail fin, side fin, white belly and a toothy grin. | A complete, clean transformation into a recognizable creature that looks nothing like a hat. | | C | OG pet with a green alien/bug-style helmet with a clear visor and two purple-tipped antennae; the pet's face and body are unchanged below it. | Cute and readable, but a simple hat-only design with little beyond headwear. | | D | OG pet with a spiral unicorn horn, flowing pastel-rainbow mane that drapes past the body, and a separate star-tipped wand with sparkles held at the left. | Coordinated unicorn concept with a real prop; charming, though the pet underneath is still mostly visible. | | E | A pale pet (doge/cat-like body visible) wearing an oversized yellow foam "#1" pointing hand on its head. | Funny, instantly recognizable sports-fan concept that pushes the hat into an unusual object, but it is a single headpiece. | | F | A Pepe-type pet appears at the left, partly behind a red pot/tub holding an orange cat-like figure with flames rising from it. | Inventive object build, but the concept is hard to read and the pet looks beside the costume rather than dressed in it. | | G | Grey cat pet wearing a black pointed witch hat with an orange "$" emblem on the band. | Clean but plain; a basic hat-only design with the pet fully unchanged. | | H | The pet is covered by a dark hooded, rounded cloak shape with a pale skull emblem, and a long scythe with a curved grey blade is held diagonally at the right. | A Grim Reaper costume with a strong prop and full coverage; very memorable, though the blob-like silhouette is a little less crisp. | | I | Red samurai kabuto helmet with gold crescent horns plus red layered armor plates covering the body; only the pet's feet show beneath. | Convincing multi-piece armor; the pet really looks dressed as a samurai, compact but well detailed. | ## Preference order (best to least preferred) 1. B 2. H 3. I 4. D 5. E 6. A 7. F 8. C 9. G ## First choice: B B is the most complete transformation: the pet is entirely replaced by a polished, instantly recognizable shark with fins, tail, belly and grin. It goes furthest from an ordinary hat and reads clearly as a costume from a distance. ## Second choice: H H fully covers the pet in a hooded reaper cloak and adds a clearly visible scythe prop, giving a strong, memorable concept that stretches the Hat Crafter well beyond headwear. ## Uncertainty and close calls B vs H was close: H has the prop B lacks, but B's silhouette and execution are cleaner. H vs I was also close; I's armor is convincing but smaller in scope. F's concept could not be identified with confidence (it may be a hot-pot/cauldron or fire-cat idea), which lowered it; a clearer view might move it up. Exact pet species under E and H are inferred from partial visibility and did not affect judging. **Unanswered:** the intended concept of F. **Limitation:** none — both images were opened and all nine entries were visually legible. This is a single judge's ballot. It contains no numerical scores and no simulated additional judges.
