# Gracias, Leo — production notes

Personal 90-second Argentina farewell tribute. The film and poster contain no production branding or credits. The closing card contains only “Gracias, Leo”. No generated picture, voice, face restoration, reenactment, or photo animation was used. All picture before the card is moving match, archive, or broadcast video; the 10×10 passage uses moving video in every cell.

## Deliverables

| File | Purpose |
| --- | --- |
| `video.mp4` | Final browser-playable film |
| `hero.png` | Poster made from a real moving 2022 World Cup trophy frame |
| `edl.csv` | 63 picture intervals, timeline/source in and out, event/date, beat difference |
| `shot_log.csv` | Source, native file resolution, editorial scores, attribution and reuse status |
| `commentary.csv` | Five original broadcast-audio intervals and verification status |

`sources.json` gives source URLs, local paths, SHA-256 values, sizes, and selected in/out intervals. `build.py` validates every required local clip and the supplied song against hashes before rebuilding. The source media and full requester-supplied song are intentionally outside source control; place them at the paths in `sources.json` to rerun `python3 build.py`. `requirements.txt` lists the Python requirement; the FFmpeg and FFprobe executables used for the render are in `tools/`.

The 2026 date and Argentina farewell context were checked against the [AFA match report](https://www.afa.com.ar/es/posts/la-seleccion-argentina-despidio-a-lionel-messi-con-una-goleada-ante-benin). The 2005 first-goal source is [FC Barcelona’s archive clip](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5129bp); the 2024 trophy footage is the [FOX Copa América ceremony broadcast](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x927iuy). The full interval and attribution list is in `sources.json`. Online access does not establish reuse permission; all broadcast/archive footage is logged `not_cleared_editorial`.

## Music and commentary

The requester’s Coldplay **“Viva la Vida” studio MP3** was downloaded first to `music/viva_la_vida.mp3` and verified at **3,912,039 bytes**, SHA-256 `cfd0629025b67a109e30851b780e70267c3b4b66756d318b4ff48d9199856ce4`. Its source is 128 kb/s stereo/44.1 kHz. The edit uses source intervals 0–49.920 s, 157.335–187.350 s, and 212.580–222.705 s, joined with 30 ms crossfades and extended to the 90-second tail. The source bitrate limits audio detail despite the 320 kb/s AAC export.

Five original source-audio excerpts are mixed over the song. The music duck starts 0.2 seconds before each excerpt, is roughly 8 dB down through it, and recovers over 0.35 seconds. `commentary.csv` records each source and timecode. The spoken words were **not independently auditioned or transcribed** in this runtime, so exact wording and word-boundary polish are unverified; no invented quote, synthetic voice, or subtitles appear in the film.

## Render and local checks

`ffprobe` on the final file: **90.000000 s**, **56,149,918 bytes** (53.55 MiB), **1920×1080**, **25 fps**, H.264 **High/yuv420p** video at **4,664,036 b/s**, AAC-LC **stereo/48 kHz** audio at **320,950 b/s**. The MP4 `moov` atom precedes `mdat` (faststart). Every picture shot uses a 1920×804 active image centered between 138-pixel black bars. The closing card begins at 88.16 s. Poster size: 2,302,418 bytes.

`ffmpeg ebur128=peak=true` on the final MP4 reported **−14.2 LUFS integrated**, **7.9 LU** loudness range, **−1.4 dBFS true peak**. `silencedetect=noise=-50dB:d=0.8` found **no intervals**. `blackdetect=d=0.1` found **88.16–89.96 s**, the intended black card. `freezedetect=n=-50dB:d=0.5` found only the same card starting at **88.16 s**. A seek-timestamp fault in the 2024 HLS recording initially froze shots; accurate post-input seeking fixed it and the final check found no frozen picture before the card.

The 63 picture intervals cover 88.16 s and average **1.399 s**. The longest are the 2.92-second opening and 3.92-second moving mosaic. All 63 cut starts are within **0.020 s** of the measured beat grid (within one 25 fps frame); individual differences are listed in `edl.csv`. PySceneDetect was used on source excerpts and the rendered cut for candidate changes. Visual review used final-render contact sheets sampled every **0.5 s** plus every transition; these scratch sheets are not delivered. They prompted replacements of non-Messi 2024 crowd views, removal of a La Liga corner mark, removal of a 2016 compilation watermark, and replacement of a penalty view in the farewell with moving supporter acknowledgment.

Section review from the final contact sheets: the opening clearly shows Messi’s Argentina number 10; youth archive is visibly softer but remains moving; magic preserves the goal action and 2017 shirt gesture; the heartbreak grade is cooler; 2021 and 2024 trophy closeups center Messi; the mosaic stays moving; the final 2026 frames show Messi looking up and waving before the black card. Stadium advertising remains visible in some original match angles. The 2026 sources are **640×360** and **864×484**, below the requested 720p minimum, and the older Newell’s material has SD archival detail inside a 720p file. No artificial detail was claimed or generated.

**Limitations:** A complete synchronized watch and listen was unavailable in this runtime; visual contact sheets and audio analysis do not certify subjective playback quality or the exact broadcast words. The five commentary contexts are genuine source broadcasts, but their wording was not independently verified by listening. The story omits the free kick and Ballon d’Or beat, and the 2021 whistle/tossed-in-air beat, to keep verified Messi-focused footage in 90 seconds. Broadcast and song reuse rights were not cleared here; this is the requester’s personal tribute for the accepted Explorer delivery, with no social upload.
