# Fren Pet Costume Contest 2026 — Group 1, Judge 3 Status: judged ## Visible observations and impressions - **A:** A gold-and-red horned helmet, layered matching armor, and a tall staff with a red tassel turn the pet into a cohesive ceremonial warrior. The many coordinated pieces read strongly and naturally as a full costume. - **B:** A steel closed helmet with a bright red eye detail and a tiny creature perched on top covers the pet's head. It is crisply rendered and memorable, but the visible costume is otherwise a comparatively single-piece look. - **C:** A spotted brimmed hat, long black side piece, and a sheathed sword with a red tie make a clear swordsman silhouette. The themed accessories are clean and recognizable, though the transformation is lighter than the fuller ensembles. - **D:** A pointed black-and-orange witch hat sits above a purple, tentacled-looking cloak with skull ornaments and a glowing green lower effect. The dramatic magical silhouette and clustered details make it a striking witch costume. - **E:** The pet wears large textured brown hair and beard with blue painter's clothes, holds painting tools, and stands beside a landscape canvas on an easel. The easel and painted scene make this an especially clear character costume with a strong prop. - **F:** Gold-and-black horned armor is paired with purple flame effects, a large glowing purple sword, and a dark horned companion-like shape at the side. This is the most complete visible transformation, with multiple detailed pieces and exceptionally strong visual impact. - **G:** A black-and-gold bicorne hat, blue-trimmed formal coat, patterned waistcoat, and small hand-held side prop create a compact historic-officer costume. It is polished and readable, but deliberately less elaborate than the top group. ## Preference order **F, A, E, D, C, G, B** ## Placings **Winner — F.** The coordinated horned armor, purple sword, flame-like accents, and dark companion form the richest and most dramatic costume scene. It completely dresses the pet while keeping a highly legible warrior-fantasy silhouette. **Runner-up — A.** Its horned helmet, layered armor, and tall tasseled staff are meticulously coordinated into a convincing full ceremonial-warrior outfit. The staff adds a strong visible prop without competing with the costume's clear silhouette. **Third place — E.** The painter idea is immediately readable through the hair, beard, clothing, hand-held tools, and especially the easel-mounted landscape. That multi-piece storytelling prop gives it a memorable identity beyond ordinary headwear. ## Uncertainty D and E were the closest placement: D has the more fantastical visual flourish, while E's easel and painted canvas give it a slightly clearer costume concept and prop-driven presentation. B and G are also cleanly executed, but their visible costumes contain fewer distinct elements than the entries above them. Limitation: None. I visually inspected the normal-pet reference, the full collage, and each of the seven individual entry views.
