# FPCC judging report — Judge 2 **Status:** judged I visually inspected the supplied costume collage and the normal-appearance reference. The observations below describe visible costume elements; the impressions are my judgments based on those visible elements. ## Entry observations - **A — Observation:** An orange patterned headwrap supports a tall fan of multicolored feathers, with long red, purple, and blue hair-like pieces framing the pet. **Impression:** This is a colorful, detailed ceremonial-performer look, though most of its effect remains concentrated around the head. - **B — Observation:** A bright-blue shark silhouette encloses the entry, with a dorsal fin, side fins, eye, gills, and a broad white-toothed mouth. **Impression:** The complete creature shape is immediately legible and convincingly transforms the pet rather than merely accessorizing it. - **C — Observation:** A lime-green and purple helmet has two purple-tipped antennae and a dark visor over the pet's visible body. **Impression:** It is a clean, recognizable alien/space look, but it reads primarily as a single helmet. - **D — Observation:** Pastel rainbow hair, a central unicorn horn, and a star-tipped wand form a coordinated set around the pet. **Impression:** The horn, flowing mane, and prop make a charming, clearly conceived magical-unicorn costume. - **E — Observation:** An oversized shiny golden hand with its index finger raised covers the upper part of the pet. **Impression:** The absurd giant-hand concept is memorable, but the costume is dominated by one simple object rather than a fuller transformation. - **F — Observation:** The pet appears behind an orange cat resting on a stack or bowl of red circular layers. **Impression:** The separate cat and red base create a small, playful scene with more than a conventional hat, though the intended character is less immediately clear than the higher entries. - **G — Observation:** A black bent pointed witch hat marked with a gold “S” sits above the otherwise visible pet. **Impression:** The silhouette is readable, but it is a comparatively ordinary hat-only treatment with little supporting costume detail. - **H — Observation:** A large dark rounded figure envelops the pet, with a pale skull-like upper detail and a long brown staff held diagonally, ending in a pale gray ornament. **Impression:** The strong silhouette, staff, and near-total coverage make this a particularly successful character transformation. - **I — Observation:** Layered red-and-black armor covers the pet, topped by a red helmet with a central gold crest and wide curved gold horns. **Impression:** This is a polished, multi-piece samurai design whose armor and helmet work together as one costume. ## Preference order 1. H 2. I 3. B 4. F 5. D 6. A 7. E 8. C 9. G ## First choice — H H deserves to win because the dark enclosing body, pale upper detail, and diagonal staff combine into a distinctive character with a strong, readable silhouette. It pushes well beyond ordinary headwear and remains visually purposeful rather than cluttered. ## Runner-up — I I earns runner-up for its coherent red-and-black armor, horned helmet, and gold accents. It visibly dresses the pet as a samurai with multiple coordinated parts and unusually strong execution. ## Uncertainty and close choice The closest decision was I versus B: B has the more complete creature transformation, while I has the more visibly layered costume construction. I placed I higher for the latter's coordinated armor details. F's orange cat and red base are visible, but their exact narrative role is less certain from this single image; that uncertainty did not prevent judging its visible prop-based design.
