## Details

### 1. Newest stable release
- The GitHub "latest release" endpoint returns tag `2.2.2`, `prerelease: false`, `draft: false`, `published_at: 2026-10-26T16:59:58Z`
  (https://api.github.com/repos/NethermindEth/nethermind/releases/latest).
- The releases list (https://github.com/NethermindEth/nethermind/releases) shows a later entry,
`zkvm-guests-2.3.0-preview+3` (published 2026-10-26T19:23:19Z), but it is marked as a pre-release
  and is a preview, so it is excluded. Before 2.2.2 the stable releases were 2.2.1 (2026-10-22), 2.2.0 (2026-10-16), 2.1.0 (2026-10-01) and 2.0.0 (2026-09-22).
- Release page: https://github.com/NethermindEth/nethermind/releases/tag/2.2.2

### 2. License
- The README's License section says: "Nethermind is an open-source software licensed under the
  LGPL-3.0" and links to `LICENSE-LGPL` (https://github.com/NethermindEth/nethermind/blob/master/README.md#license).
- Source files carry `SPDX-License-Identifier: LGPL-3.0-only` (for example
  https://github.com/NethermindEth/nethermind/blob/master/src/Nethermind/Nethermind.Runner/Program.cs).
- Note: the repository root also holds a `LICENSE-GPL` file
  (https://github.com/NethermindEth/nethermind/blob/master/LICENSE-GPL), and GitHub's automatic
license detection reports `GPL-3.0` for the repository
(https://api.github.com/repos/NethermindEth/nethermind). The README and the per-file SPDX headers
both name LGPL-3.0, so `LGPL-3.0-only` is reported here. GitHub's label conflicts with them and is mentioned only so readers know about it.

### 3. Main implementation language
- GitHub's language breakdown is dominated by C# (about 56.5 MB of C# against about 0.3 MB of HTML, the next largest)
(https://api.github.com/repos/NethermindEth/nethermind/languages). The README describes it as
"a high-performance Ethereum execution client built on .NET"

### 4. Maintainer
- The repository belongs to the GitHub organization `NethermindEth`, named "Nethermind", with website
https://nethermind.io and the description "Ethereum and Starknet researchers and builders
developing the Nethermind Ethereum client, Juno, Voyager, and Sedge" (https://github.com/NethermindEth).
- Source file headers read `SPDX-FileCopyrightText: 2024 Demerzel Solutions Limited`
  (https://github.com/NethermindEth/nethermind/blob/master/src/Nethermind/Nethermind.Runner/Program.cs).
None of the pages consulted states how Demerzel Solutions Limited relates to Nethermind, so this file does not claim one.

### 5. Notable changes in 2.2.2 (from the release notes)
Source: https://github.com/NethermindEth/nethermind/releases/tag/2.2.2
1. A patch release on top of 2.2.1 that ships the October 2026 out-of-band .NET security updates. The notes say there are
no Nethermind code, database-format or configuration changes, so nodes can upgrade in place from any 2.2.x version, and that consensus behavior and fork schedules are unchanged from 2.2.1.
2. **.NET 10.0.14 runtime in Docker images and binaries**: Docker images are now based on
`mcr.microsoft.com/dotnet/aspnet:10.0.14-resolute` (`-resolute-chiseled` for the chiseled image).
The self-contained binaries are built with SDK 10.0.403 and bundle the 10.0.14 runtime (PR #15251).
3. **.NET packages updated to 10.0.14**: ASP.NET Core DataProtection, Microsoft.Extensions.\*,
   System.Security.Cryptography.\*, System.IO.Hashing, System.CommandLine and others (PR #15211).
